After a season of consolation “All at Llanhilleth RFC” are looking forward to what is sure to be a challenging season ahead.

The Club are pleased to announce that to date, the entire playing squad from last season are still on board with the exception of Jack Davies, Will Davies and Gwyn Warner who on Monday left our shores for a year’s sabbatical in New Zealand, all at the Club wish them every success both on and off the field and we look forward to welcoming them back and hearing all of the tales from their travels.

The Club has been busy during the close season recruiting to strengthen the squad so that we have cover from 1 to 15 but we are sure that the present incumbents won’t be giving their Jerseys up within a fight so the preseason and trials are sure to be interesting building up to our first league fixture against St Julian’s RFC on September 1^st.

The Club wishes to welcome our new backs coach Chris Stevens AKA Beansie to our ranks, Chris as joined from our local rivals Hafodyrynys RFC as he looks to build on his already impressive career by taking his first steps into coaching. He is looking forward to teaming up with his old playing colleague Leigh Taylor our forwards coach for preseason training, which is already underway at the Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30.

Matthew Fowler – Centre / Assistant Coach joins from Abertillery/BG RFC

Luke Morgan – Centre / Fullback joins from Abertillery/BG RFC

Scott Pitt – Hooker rejoins from Trinant RFC

Kristian Reynolds – Prop joins from Blaina RFC

Greg Thomas – Outside Half / Centre joins from Brynmawr RFC

Ryan Webber – Loosehead Prop joins from Brynmawr RFC

Dane Williams – Centre rejoins from Hafodyrynys RFC

We look forward to them all meeting up with our existing squad members and training hard during preseason and at our trial matches against Tredegar Ironsides RFC at home on August 11^th, Croesyceiliog RFC at home on August 18^th and St Albans RFC away on August 25^th followed by a few beers in Cardiff prior to the real action starting the following weekend.
