Llan v West Mon HSOB

Llanhiiieth welcomed new opponents , (the club never having played them before) WEST MON HSOB in the !st round of the WRU Bowl competition. The game immediatly started at a fast pace and from the kick off it was obvious to see that Llan intended to run thier big opponants around the park. Within minutes a sweeping move involving all the backs saw Chris Stevens cross for the opening score. the game continued in the same vain from that point with Llan piling up points. Further tries followed at regular intervals. Chris Stevens added another, Alex Davies got 2, Young prop Kaine Chivers who was having his best game for the club got 2, Iestyn James at number 8 crossed as did centre Owen Williams , fellow centre Dom Bevan-Jones also crossed for 2 and kicked 2 cons. the scoring was completed by the general at outside half Kyle Sterry who slotted 5 convertions. this gave Llan a fine well deserved win by 64 points to 12. Credit is due to West Mon who never gave up and played their part in an entertaing game during which they scored 2 good tries of their own. All the Llan squad played their part hooker Carl Hone and second rower Terry Blackwell being prominent in a dominant pack display. Next week Llan entertain so far unbeaten New Panteg in a top of the table league clash, so player/coachs Lee Taylor, Chris Stevens and Tim Tilling will expect full commitment from the squad this week in training in readiness for what is expected to be a very tough game.
