Llanhilleth travelled to table toppers Rhymney for what was sure to be a bruising battle and toughest challenge in the league to date and that it proved to be.
Rhymney were the better side on the day and ran out deserved winners by 37-22 scoring 5 tries to 3 in the process for a bonus point win.
Llan’s points were scored by Left Wing Alex Davies ( 2 Tries ) Fullback Luke Morgan ( Try ) and Outside Half Kyle Sterry ( 2 Conv, 1 Pen ).
All at Llan wish Rhymney a successful season and we look forward to the return fixture later in the new year.
The coaches will have taken as much out of this defeat as the previous victories and will look to work hard on these areas in training this week prior to our next league fixture this coming Saturday at home to Whiteheads RFC which is sure to be another stern test, where they will look to get the right reaction out of the team and look to bounce back with a home win.
